FAQ's
What are airsoft guns?
Airsoft guns or Automatic Electric Guns (AEGs) are 1/1-scale replicas of actual assault rifles and sub-machine guns that employ an electric motor to pneumatically fire a 6mm, resin BB in semi and fully automatic modes. Offering both reliability and stunning accuracy, in addition to incomparable realism, airsoft guns are sought the world over by survival gamers, firearms training instructors, class III- weapons enthusiasts, and motion-picture studios.

Can I use traditional, .177 caliber BBs in an airsoft gun?
No! Airsoft guns are designed to shoot 6mm airsoft BBs only.

Are airsoft guns legal to own and operate?
Airsoft guns are legal to own in most states. One should always review all local and state laws/ordinances regarding BB guns, replica guns, and paintball guns before making a purchase. You cannot puchase an Airsoft Gun if you live in the City of New York including the 5 Burroughs or New Jersey.

How far will airsoft guns shoot?
Airsoft guns are capable of attaining a maximum-effective range of 100 yards depending on whether or not the gun has been upgraded. Stock, "out-of-the-box" guns will shoot accurately up to 50 yards.

How accurate are airsoft guns?
Airsoft guns are remarkably accurate for smooth-bore guns. At 50 yards, you will be able to keep your shots within a 6-8" group.

Will airsoft guns penetrate aluminum cans?
No, they will not, but they will penetrate an NRA target at 20 feet.

Do they make airsoft pistols?
Yes, but airsoft pistols are not electrically operated. Handguns are either gas-operated or manual, single-shot replicas. Gas guns tend to break seals very easily and are very expensive to fix.  We have a very limited selection so give us a call, and we’ll elaborate.

How loud are airsoft guns?
Airsoft guns are quieter than a .22 caliber rifle, but a bit louder than a typical air rifle.

What is included in the purchase of an airsoft gun?
All AEGs come standard with regular capacity magazine or hi capacity mag depending on gun.  Models such as the CAR15 and AK Spetznaz have hi capacity mags stock.  Also included is a loading tool, cleaning rod, 200 BBs, and an owner’s manual.  The purchase of a battery and charger is needed to operate any of the AEG's.  A combo battery and 4 hour charger costs $40.

What is "Hop-Up?"
Hop-Up is a standard feature on all of our AEGs. The Hop-Up system employs an adjustable detent that partially drops down in front of the projectile in the gun’s chamber. When the gun is fired, the BB brushes past the detent, which puts a backspin on the BB to counteract the projectile’s rate of descent. This feature allows the shooter to fully control the BB’s trajectory. One can adjust the Hop-Up to cause the BB to drop sharply, fly perfectly straight or "hop up" and extend its effective range.

What is a Tracer Unit?
The Tracer Unit is a replica silencer that attaches onto the barrel of an AEG to photoilluminate glow-in-the-dark BBs. Attaching to the gun’s barrel or flash suppressor, the device optically senses the passing BB and strobe-flashes the projectile’s phosphorescence. The BBs race out glowing bright green. There is absolutely no reduction in muzzle velocity or gun audibility. Not only do these dramatically enhance a gun’s appearance but, at night, on full-auto, it looks like you’re shooting a green laser beam!

How much do airsoft guns weigh?
Generally, AEGs weigh anywhere from 65 to 90% of the actual firearm’s weight.

What are airsoft guns made of?
All our AEGs are composites of steel parts integrated with molded, high-impact ABS resin. Metal parts include: barrels, magazines, front and rear sights, stock rails, internal mecabox, etc. The receivers are generally ABS resin which is the same durable polymer that Glock uses on its handguns. The attention to detail is astounding. Trust us. You’ll be impressed.

What can I expect out of an upgraded airsoft gun?
Quite a bit! Upgrading an airsoft gun entails replacing the stock spring, motor, gears and cylinder/piston assembly with hi-performance replacements that are capable of dramatically increasing the gun’s performance. Upgraded springs are designated by an increased percentage rating that begins at 120% (i.e. 20% stronger than a stock spring) and runs all the way up to 200%. These springs, when used in conjunction with a reinforced mecabox and a 1000-series motor, increase the gun’s fps to 450 and extend the maximum effective range to 80 yards. The increased durability offered by upgraded parts also extend the lifespan of an AEG considerably.
